Petroleum transportation and logistics provider, Keenan Advantage Group (KAG) has announced the opening of a new fuels delivery terminal in Geismar, Louisiana.  The facility located to provide transportation solutions to the sizeable petroleum industry located in the southern state.

To be managed by the KAG subsidiary, Keenan Transport Company (KTC) , the terminal is actually located alongside existing facilities operated by KTC’s sister company, Transport Service Co, of the company’s Specialty Product’s Group.

TAM Cargo, the freight unit of Brazilian airline TAM Linhas Aéreas, has announced the inaugural operations of a new and larger freight terminal in the Brazilian city of Manaus.  The new facility boasting a number of improvements over the previous facility utilised by TAM Cargo.

According to the airline, the new Manaus terminal consists of an operating area of 2,160 metres, allowing for a storage capacity of more than 80 tonnes per day.  The increased size and spaciousness of the terminal set to make its easier for large vehicle manoeuvrability and parking, allowing freight shipments to be dispatched faster.

Tennessee based Kenco Logistics Services has announced that the company is to manage a huge 1.6 million square feet distribution facility in Columbus Ohio for the electrical appliances company whirlpool.

The agreement between Whirlpool and Kenco Logistics Services (Kenco) will see the logistics services company manage an existing Whirlpool warehouse, nearby to the new distribution facility, from the first of September.  Subsequent to this, Kenco will manage the transition from the existing facility to the new distribution facility, once it is opened in early October.

North American rail freight company BNSF has announced today the re-opening of a of a rail-served building materials transload facility in the greater Chicago area.

To be managed by the Elwood based warehouse management company, Partners Warehouse, the facility in Eola Illinois has the capacity to handle dimensional loads and features more than 12.5 acres of covered and open storage in close proximity to Chicago with access to the areas major  highways.

Pallet supplier and management firm CHEP, has announced that the company has entered into an agreement with the United States, National Onion Association, an agreement that is set to see both CHEP and the National Onion Association benefit.

For the National Onion Association, the partnership with CHEP revolves around the bolstering of funds for retail, consumer and food service promotional and educational activities, while CHEP will see benefits as the National Onion Association moves to promote to its members the benefits of CHEP pallet pooling.

Los Angeles based logistics firm CaseStack has announced that the company has sourced a location in Laredo Texas for a new cross-docking facility that will serve, among others, CaseStack’s business with the Walmart company.

Starting in October, CaseStack says that the Laredo facility, that is located near to the United States - Mexico Border will support and facilitate logistics from Mexican manufacturing companies to US retailers and enable product to be delivered directly from the Laredo port of entry to Walmart’s distribution centres.

Global logistics provider Menlo Worldwide logistics has announced a new agreement with Kettle Foods Incorporated to provide the Oregon based snack food company with additional logistics management.

The subsidiary of Con-Way Incorporated, Menlo, is set to manage for Kettle a new 105,000 square foot dedicated warehouse in Beloit, Wisconsin.  This new agreement coming on top of an existing warehouse management deal that saw Menlo manage Kettle’s warehousing in a multi-client facility in Illinois.

Californian based overnight package delivery company, OnTrac, this week announced that the company has opened a new new OnTrac Support Centre in San Jose California.

The San Jose OnTrac support centre is housed in the new 35,000 square foot facility in the Californian city and according to OnTrac will  centralize all dispatching services, route management and field customer service.

New Orleans based trucking and warehousing company, Transportation Consultants Incorporated (TCI) announced today that the company has opened a new terminal in Jacksonville, Florida.

The terminal, which is 20 minutes from the Port of Jacksonville and includes over 20,000 square feet of warehouse space, will enable TCI to offer its storage, container drayage, commodity and trucking consulting services to clients in the South West of the United States, as well as clients in the Caribbean region.
