The European distributor of digital office products brand, Ricoh, Ricoh Europe Supply Chain Management (SCM), has announced an agreement with Dutch logistics provider CEVA Logistics to take charge of the Spanish Service Parts Satellite Warehouse.

The warehouse, to be located in the CEVA Logistics site in Subirats, Spain, will provide warehousing, cross-docking, spare parts and reverse logistics to Ricoh Europe SCM as well as the company’s finished products and supplies, third party logistics provider.

Commenting on the new agreement, the Managing Director for CEVA Logistics in Spain, Giuseppe Chiellino, said that “in our industry, the extension of activities is undoubtedly the greatest recognition that we can get from a customer.  This new contract,” added Chiellino “confirms that Ricoh values to rely on a logistics partner that demonstrates proven capabilities in realizing solutions fitting its needs and ensuring seamless continuity of its business and service to its customers.”

The agreement was also hailed by Frank Nieuwenhuis, Ricoh’s Business Planning Department Manager.  Mr Nieuwenhuis remarked that “the second shared SCM satellite, both operated by CEVA Logistics, is an important milestone for Ricoh’s activities.” Nieuwenhuis also stated that “next to Italy, Spain is the second country where a shared satellite warehouse is operating,” with the main goal being to “reduce transport costs and increase customer satisfaction by bringing the service parts closer to the customer.”
