UPS Announces 2009 Rate Schedule
Express package and freight delivery company, United Parcel Service (UPS) has released an updated rate schedule for 2009, the new schedule coming into effect from January 5 2009.
The new schedule includes a rise in the general rate of 5.9 percent, a 5.9 percent increase for UPS Ground packages and an average net increase of 4.9 percent on all air express and U.S. origin International shipments. The rate increase for air express and international shipments being based on a 6.9 percent increase in the base rate, less a 2 percent reduction in the air and international fuel surcharge index.
UPS advises that updated rate and service information will be posted on the company’s website from the 24th of October, with customers able to download the complete, 2009 Rate and Service Guide from the site as of the 18th of December.
