Lufthansa Cargo Launches Direct Toronto Flights

Air cargo subsidiary of Germany’s passenger airline Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo has announced that the airline will commence non-stop dedicated freight flights from Frankfurt to Toronto, before returning to Germany via Atlanta.

Lufthansa Cargo will Lufthansa Cargooperate the twice-weekly flights using its MD-11F aircraft, the airline offering approximately 90 tonnes of freight capacity on the aircraft, on the Frankfurt, Toronto Atlanta, Frankfurt route.

The capacity offered on dedicated freight flights to Toronto coincide with additional capacity offered to customers shipping to the Canadian cities of Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal as well as Toronto in the belly space of passenger aircraft.

Commenting on the new flights to Toronto, Lufthansa Cargo’s Dr. Andreas Otto noted that the "new service enables us to airfreight customers shipments faster non-stop to Canada and connects Toronto with Europe’s biggest cargo airport."

Lufthansa Cargo operates a total of nineteen MD-11F aircraft in its fleet with a route network consisting of over three-hundred destinations worldwide.
