More Containers Open Up Transport Options for DSV

Global transport and logistics company, De Sammensluttede Vognmænd or DSV has announced DSVthe acquisition of new equipment in order to take advantage of intermodal and multimodal opportunities the company sees as emerging in the wake of growing environmental considerations.

The Danish company has acquired 450, 45 foot containers, containers that DSV say will be used to increase transport solutions for customers as road transportation is reconsidered if favour of more efficient, short-sea, rail and barge transport.

The acquisition of 450 containers, along with DSV’s existing stock of 900 containers will remain open for use on DSV’s Pan European Transport System, however, Rene Falch Olesen the Managing Director of DSV Road Limited in the United Kingdom remarked that container transport does open up a wider range of multimodal options.  “We have experienced steady growth of our unaccompanied container transport business as customers take advantage of the increased flexibility containers offer on certain routes,” said Olesen.
