RoadLink Takes C-Truck off Hapag Lloyd
Provider of intermodal logistics services in North America, RoadLink, have announced that they will acquire the CP Ships Trucking (C-Truck) concern from Hapag Lloyd in Canada.
The deal, which will be subject to a review by Investment Canada is set to see RoadLink enhance the company’s capabilities for customers across the United States and Canada, after Hapag Lloyd took a strategic business decision to offload the company.
As it stands now, C-Truck operates from six locations in Canada and the United States and operates a fleet of approximately 240 trucks, the majority of which are owner-operated.
According to RoadLink’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Chris Munro, the acquisition of C-Truck from Hapag Lloyd will provide RoadLink with a key strategic opportunity to launch a new alliance with Canadian transport company Consolidated Fastfrate.
“The addition of Fastfrate’s Canadian-based transportation and logistics capabilities to the expanding RoadLink system further underscores our continuing focus on expanding our business capacity and developing leadership across North America, ” said Munro. “In working with Fastfrate, we’re reinforcing our commitment to serve Canada.”
The Atlanta based RoadLink currently operates more than sixty Service Centers and fifty on-site customer locations in North America, whilst Ontario’s Consolidated Fastfrate has a total of 17 operating terminals across Canada.
