Tennessee Truckload Carrier Purchases Pinner

The third largest truckload carrier in the United States, U.S. Xpress Enterprises Incorporated (US Xpress) have today announced the asset purchase of Pinner Transportation.

The purchase will see US Express gain Pinner’s facilities in Midland Texas, Louisville Kentucky, Albuquerque New Mexico as well as those in Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville in Florida.  The facilities becoming part of the Xpress Global Systems network.

US Xpress Enterprises Speaking to the acquisition, Max Fuller, Co-Chairman of U.S. Xpress, said that US Xpress has “great respect for what Pinner has accomplished during its many years of operation,” and that US Xpress was looking forward to “partnering with Pinner associates and their customers to develop greater opportunities for future growth and profitability.”

Xpress Global Systems President, John Bowes also conveyed eagerness as to the immediate future as a result of the acquisition, with Bowes saying that “The management team at Xpress Global Systems is very excited about
welcoming Pinner associates and their customers to our company. We believe
this is a win-win opportunity, and we are currently working with the Pinner
management team to make this a seamless transition for all involved.”

US Xpress is one of the largest providers of expedited and time-definite services in the truckload industry as well as providing expedited intermodal rail services.  The company has a fleet of some 7,500 tractors and 22,000 trailers and provides dedicated, regional, and expedited team truckload services throughout North America, with regional capabilities in the West, Midwest, and Southeastern United States.
