USDG Getting Ethanol on the Rails in Texas
Ethanol Infrastructure development firm the U.S. Development Group (USDG) has celebrated the opening of a new ethanol handling and distribution facility located in Arlington, Texas.
The Dallas Fort Worth Rail Terminal, which is located on 15 acres within a broader industrial area is served by the Union Pacific Railroad and consists of
a rail terminal, pipeline operation, truck load operation, and a mass storage facility. The entire operation geared towards distributing the majority of the fuel-grade ethanol for north and central Texas.
The facility features a 130,000 barrel ethanol storage capacity, an 84-railcar high-speed offloading facility, and outbound truck and pipeline capabilities.
Larry Padfield, Vice President of U.S. Development Group commenting on the opening of the facility said that “The Dallas Fort Worth Rail Terminal forms a key link in the supply chain needed to meet growing demand for cleaner-burning blended fuel.” Padfield also added that “The ability to pump ethanol directly to gasoline blend terminals via pipelines significantly reduces the time and cost associated with secondary trucking.”
In addition to the primary role of efficient distribution of the ethanol product from and within the DFW Metroplex area, the USDG also hopes that the new facility will move both Texas and the United States of America forward in addressing the dual issues of the environment and energy security.
